.36 caliber with a 7-1/8" barrel. This is a martially marked revolver manufactured by Savage Arms from 1861 to 1865. It was a popular revolver during the Civil War. It is an interesting revolver in that the ring lever rotates the cylinder cocking the hammer and then the trigger drops the hammer. Several of the original nipples are damaged but intact. Metal finish is all grey, having been cleaned, with evidence of overall pitting. Grips have been refinished and varnished. Military inspector marks on metal. Fine working order. Several of the screws have been boogered.
