Rare Steam Gauge & Lantern Co. No. 4 Conductor's lantern. This lantern measures about 8" to the top of the finial with the bail in down position. It is about half the size of a normal SG & L Conductor's lantern. The nickel plating is excellent with only slight wear. The bayonet fount detaches properly and is equipped with a standard No. 1 functioning ratchet burner. The globe is a spectacular copper wheel cut, half green example. "Chas. F. Whitter" is intricately engraved in old English font in the clear bottom portion, surrounded by a beautiful and highly detailed floral cartouche. This little lantern is beautiful beyond description. Condition is near mint, with only a push in the finial that could be straightened if desired. Globe fit is a little loose at the top. Scale rating 9.
