Coin silver speaking trumpet in the shape of an oak tree. This exceptional trumpet uses repousse work to illustrate the trunk, branches, leaves and acorns of an oak tree inhabited by squirrels, a mourning dove with nest and baby birds and an engraved hose carriage. The tassel holders are mythic Greek dolphins. The presentation is in a knot hole and reads, "Presented to James Quinn, Esq. by his Friends of Philadelphia as a token of their appreciation of his abilities as a Fireman, his Gentlemanly worth and his true Fidelity". 39 toz.
