At the time of writing The Heddon Legacy, this was one of three known Underwater Experts made during the first 60 days of Heddon production in 1902. Fitted with gold washed nose & tail caps and adorned with the first style floppy prop, this bait also uses brass screw eyes and gold washed side cups. Heddon believed the external belly weight, correct and original to this bait, proved superior in balancing the lure’s action, an idea they abandoned the very next year. The white paint was applied without primer and there is some flaking as a result, and the lure gets an overall grade of Very Good Minus or better.
