Theo A. Kochs is the oldest barber supply company in the U.S., formed in 1871. The salesman carried samples of their wares to the barber shops across the county, and with the weight and bulk of a barber chair, they developed miniature exact replicas of the chairs and carried them in cases. Not a patent model, but an exact replica in miniature form down to the screws. You can pump it up, recline it, swivel it, and even the headrest is adjustable. This example is all original, with nickel plating, upholstery, fluted porcelain base, and even a spittoon in miniature form. This chair spent the better part of the 20th century in a museum and only recently came to market. With the original carrycase and a chair much rarer than a Koken, this fantastic example and highly prized salesman sample make a great addition to any collection.
