This stunning theater made fighting knife was manufactured in Australia during World War II for US service members in the Pacific Theater of Operations. The knife has a cast brass grip which is formed into a D guard that resembles a cogwheel design. During the war, these fighting knives were manufactured in a small and a large variant. This knife is the small variant, with the bowie style blade that measures approximately 6 - 1/4". The knife is contained within a theater made leather sheath with attached belt loop. CONDITION: The blade has been polished and shows evidence of being sharpened after production. There is minor pitting throughout the blade that does not take away from the appearance of the knife. The guard has several dents and dings with several areas displaying verdigris. The leather scabbard is still sturdy and displays various wrinkles and creases. The stitching that connects the belt loop to the scabbard is slightly loose and there is cracking at the top of the belt loop. This is a very impressive fighting knife that would be a wonderful addition to a collection. JD
