Late 17th to Early 18th Century. Central spike of 13 - 1/4" with a gently raised medial ridge, while cutting head measures approximately 6" across concave edge. Pierced through with designs of crosses, teardrops, and simple animal motifs, affixed to shaft by three screws. Base of head with simple incised designs, with an orb at base of cutting head. Modern haft. CONDITION: Very good with good patina. Some scattered handling marks to haft. Examples like this became more popular in the late 17th and early 18th as the halberd had lost it's presence on the battlefield but were still a central part of parades and as symbols of rank; using screws instead of rivets allowed for a "takedown" system that made transport much easier as well.
