Narrow tang bowie knife with horn handle, oval nickel silver guard and foliate nickel silver guard and pommel. Clip point blade marked "V (crown) R WILLIAM [RODG]ERS [CELEBRA]TED DIRK KNIFE". Black morocco leather sheath with gold leaf decoration. Missing frog stud. Little is known about this William Rodgers, but this is a good honest Sheffield made knife dating from the 1850's era. CONDITION: Knife and sheath in excellent condition overall with little blade wear and no insect damage or cracks to the handle.
