DSP. Sign is Maker Marked Enameled Steel Sign Co., Chicago & Dated 1911. A nice example of this very seldom seen sign from Western Express Company. Side one is in very good condition showing very good color & gloss with a clean field showing only a few minor areas of surface scratching as well as some minor stain streaking. The outer field shows one area of chipping as well as some minor outer edge wear. Side two also shows very good color & gloss throughout the field showing two areas of chipping as well as some minor discoloration in the blue porcelain. The outer edge shows some minor areas of chipping but overall very nice. The flange portion of the sign was never bent, so it lays flat, showing only minimal chipping at the mounting holes. A very nice example of this early sign from Western Express.
