Excellent example of a World War II Imperial Japanese Navy round cargo parachute. The silk parachute is contained in its original bag that is constructed of green canvas with yellow trim. The bag features a yellow static line that would be released when the parachute and cargo were be pushed out of the plane. The parachute bag is a round, dome like shape and would be attached to cylinder like containers which were designed to carry ammunition, weapons, and other supplies for support of the paratroopers. Japanese paratrooper equipment is quite desirable considering that only three battalions were organized during World War II. The parachute bag retains its original specification tag with legible ink markings. Both snaps show surface rust but remain functional. There are a few scattered blemishes but this bag is complete and would be an excellent display piece in a collection. CONDITION: Very good. JLD
