The beautiful 14K gold handle features a gold quartz stone on the end with many engravings throughout its sides. Reads "Presented to Charles Bernard June 20, 1868". On the opposite side of the handle is engraved the many initials of the givers and the top side is engraved with symbols. On a black wood shaft with brass ferrule. The handle is somewhat loose from the shaft but this is an excellent example of a cane presented in the 1880s.
