Rare and important antique 18k yellow gold "Declaration of Independence" cane top set with a beautiful and large bluish-gray mabe pearl measuring 20mm in diameter, and 67 round cut diamonds, each measuring approximately 2.5mm in diameter, with an estimated total weight of 4.00cts, mounted on wooden walking stick shaft with a 1" steel-tipped brass ferrule. Overall length measures 39-1/4". Fully engraved "In Congress, July 4, 1776", "The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America", "When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation", "John Hancock, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams". Top is unmarked, but tested electronically to be 18k gold.
