A 29-1/2" watered Wootz blade, 1-1/4" wide, with characteristic early Kilij form and very long yelman. Plain silver mounted hilt of characteristic form with translucent horn grips scabbard mounts of heavy silver, decorated with shell design and raised embossing on the chape. Leather covered scabbard appears original with only minor losses. CONDITION: Blade is in good condition with Wootz pattern visible throughout. The groove on the left side extends much further toward the ricasso than on the right. Silver mounts are crisp with minor dents on chape. Horn grips show considerable damage from horn worms. Still an attractive full silver mounted Kilij in the original scabbard.
