In 1949, after the war, Cushman introduced the Eagle, its most popular model ever. It was designed as a scooter with the styling cues of large American-made motorcycles of the era, such as Harley-Davidson and Indian. This marked a dramatic departure from the step-through scooter designs then in vogue. The Eagle’s sheet metal body panels were kept to a minimum, allowing the flathead engine and chromed exhaust to remain prominently on display. With its contoured fenders, teardrop fuel tank, barrel-spring solo seat, and wide handlebars, it proved to be an instant success. CONDITION: Believed to be an older, high-quality restoration in the original Huntsman Red paint, which remains in near-perfect condition, with only minor storage patina. The chrome shows slight oxidation, especially around the handlebar area. The period-correct “Coker” tires show minor oxidation, but do hold air. The scooter rolls freely. Bike is sold as-is with no guarantees.
