1) Group belonging to Private Smith Alderman, Company I First Pioneer Infantry which consists of: Wool tunic with Third Corps patch on left sleeve, Third Army patch on right sleeve, discharge chevron and two gold overseas chevrons, "US" and Company C Pioneer Infantry collar disks, Victory medal with "Aisne- Marne", Oise-Aisne", Meuse-Argonne" and "Defensive Sector" bars, Sharpshooter badge, Veteran's of WWI reunion medal: Discharge and Certificate of Proficiency from army bakers school: Book titled "The Story of The First Pioneer Infantry U.S.A. dated 1919: `
Campaign hat missing its sweatband and showing general wear. 2) Wool tunic with Third Division patch, three gold overseas chevrons, "US/4" and Infantry / A collar disks. Pinned to the chest is a full sized and miniature French "La Marne" medals and a large "Society of the Third Division" convention badge dated 1934. Included are a pair of dog tags stamped " William E. Gring Corp Co A 4th Inf U.S.A." 3) Wool tunic with 78th Division patch, discharge chevron, two gold bullion overseas chevrons and a gold bullion wound chevron. Collar with "US/312" and Infantry/D collar disks. Pinned to the chest is a split brooch, numbered, Purple Heart named on the reverse "Jacob H. Uibel", Victory medal with "St Mihiel", "Meuse Argonne" and "Defensive Sector", New York State WWI Service Medal and 1937 American Legion reunion medal.
Included is a British 18 Pounder shell casing engraved with flowers and "Armenticers 1917". Uniforms are in generally very good condition with some scattered minor holes and moderate wear.
