C. 1920. This extremely rare fortune teller, often referred to as "Esmeralda," has a unique feature in that she speaks your fortune, and does not deliver a card like most fortune teller machines. It is of unknown manufacture. This example has an all original fortune teller mannequin dressed in period clothing with wax head. The machine is driven by an Edison cylinder record player and two cylinder records are included. One original and one reproduced. When you drop your coin, the Edison is engaged and plays your fortune through the external ear piece. This is the third example we have seen, and is fresh to the market. CONDITION: Truly a unique fortune teller and in an earlier restoration. Complete and working. Exterior shows some age and wear, but is original to the piece. A great addition to the most advanced arcade collection.
