39 - 1/2" blade of ovoid form with a short 8 - 1/2" fuller, with one side of the fuller topped by what appears to be an armorer's mark consisting of three dots and a strike. Quillon with horizontal turns ending in domed finials. Wooden grip of plain form and cruciform pommel. Swords like this were very popular as their lack of a sharpened edge and definitive point was effective for piercing mail and plate armor. Sword balances well in hand and weighs only 2 lbs 7 oz. CONDITION: Handforged blade shows an even darkness with a European style cleaning; quillon is en suite. Grip is very good with some handling marks and some cracks towards base. Pommel shows evidence of disassembly, probably when sword was cleaned. A very well presenting and ergonomic sword.
