A rare example of the Prideaux speedloader designed to reload the Webley revolver quickly and efficiently; so efficiently that it was patented as the "Prideaux Instantaneous Loader". Fire blued fingers for holding cartridges. Appropriately marked with "(Broad Arrow) / PLD / 1919". CONDITION: Fingers retainmost of a dull fire bluing with some minor areas of patina. Steel body with some silvering at high edges and a few areas of old oxidation, but still retaining much of the blued finish. Fingers retract appropriately when gently pressed as they would when inserted into a Webley. A rare example. EW
