A very nice restoration has been done throughout this Buffalo Fire Department Fire Alarm Telegraph Box. Box shows excellent condition red paint throughout the body with white hand painted lettering. Alarm box door opens freely and shows the alarm hook inside in working condition. Alarm box is mounted to a fluted cast-iron base and also shows a fluted cast-iron light post attachment that attaches at the top. Piece should clean up nicely and overall displays well. An ornate two-piece oil-burning post light that has been converted to electric. Cast iron base holds an ornate spiral tube assembly that telescopes to allow the clear center globe to be removed from the assembly. The top portion is supported by an ornate and scalloped cast iron holder that supports a milk-glass hemispherical globe. Affixed to the top of the globe is a chimney with circular vent and fancy finial. Additionally there are two post handles. Entire lamp has old black paint.
