A good example of the quintessential Caucasian dagger. Blade with asymmetrical fuller, approximately 9 - 1/2" and 10" on the other. Good quality chisel cut decorations in geometric patterns, accented with niello and gilt. CONDITION: Overall very good, with virtually all gilt and niello remaining, some impressions to sheet metal, most noticeable at top of the carrying strap, which shows some damage. Blade is rough with tool marks as most examples are. Ball tip finial probably replaced as patina does not match up. A presentable example.
