Chief Engineer's High Eagle helmet with 32 combs presentation fire helmet with hand painted, gold leaf front. A ladder truck and Art Nouveau patterns are painted on the helmet front. The silver presentation plaque on the back reads "Presented to John Stannens by the members of F H Allen H&L Co. No. 1, New London Conn., Dec. 1896". Fancy stitched blue wool and red silk liner is intact. Made by Cairns and Brothers, New York City. Minor paint loss to the combs and outer edge of the brim. From the Ray Bentley Collection.
