This is an early single comb model disc music box made by the innovator of the disc music box technology, Polyphon. It is contained in a very striking Walnut veneered case with a beautifully intricate inlay and marquetry to the lid. The Polyphon Music Box Co. is also the parent company to the Regina Music Box Company. The significance to this is that the discs are interchangeable between these two companies making the future acquisition of additional discs very easy. As is often the case with these early machines, this Polyphon music box is equipped with an "instant stop". The single comb is in pristine condition with no tooth repairs. It has been restored to museum quality condition. There are ten discs included.
