Standard features on this revolver are 5-1/2" barrel, Colt Frontier six shooter (.44-40), single action, blue and case hardened finish, with hard rubber grips. This revolver was manufactured in 1892 and has the early black powder screw-in frame. Remains in very fine condition as follows: the barrel, ejector rod housing, and cylinder retain approximately 75-80% of the original factory blue finish; the trigger guard and backstrap still exhibit factory blue with the grip straps having turned a smooth grey patina. The frame retains approximately 75-85% brilliant case colors with traces of case colors on the hammer. All factory stamps are perfect. The frame screws retain almost all of the fiery blue finish. The original grips are near mint. Action is perfect with all four Colt clicks. Mirror bore. The initials "H.E.F." have been lightly etched into the bottom of the butt. This revolver dates to the prime Wild West era and as such are rarely found in such fine all original high condition in one of the more popular Western big bore calibers. Lovely early black powder Colt.
