This fine gold decorated Talwar has a deeply curved 32" Damascus blade displaying a particularly fine and intricate pattern. The hilt of characteristic form, damascened in gold with flowers and vines, all in reserves. The black leather covered steel mounted scabbard with two pierced carrying ring and long steel chape. The blade is 1" wide. The blade is good, with the kirk narduban (ladder) pattern mostly visible throughout its length. Evidence of sharpening and some reduction of edge at extreme tip. Hilt retains mush of it original gold damasceneing, some heavily worn on inside face of pommel. Chape has copper braising and repairs. Scabbard leather is alligatored, but mostly intact with a repair at the chape. CONDITION: Good. A well decorated Indian sword.
