11" doll, made for Max Handwerck and one of the several soldier googlies made during WWI representing the various participants. This one is made to represent a German solder, and is incised on the back of the head "Vep. Elite D 1". The D perhaps stands for Deutschland. He has side glancing blue glass eyes, a smiling slightly open mouth with deep dimple in double chin, with molder and painted German helmet with eagle on front and pointed tip on top and a fringe of hair below the helmet behind the ears. He is on a full jointed German wood and composition body with straight wrists, blue and red felt coat with buttons and black felt trousers.

Condition: (Very Good).

Item Dimensions: 11" T.
