The steel blade of this Kriegsmarine dagger is acid etched with a anchor central motif. The "Carl Eicklhorn" marked blade is nickel plated with areas of scattered freckling. The brass guard and pommel cap retain approximately 80% of their original gilding. The wire wrapped white trylon grip has a light nicotine patina. The brass scabbard has minor remnants of the original gilding remaining. Light dents along the scabbards lower half can be seen. An original portepee with minor damage to the bullion can be observed.
