This piece is much more rare than any of the other match safes in this sale because it is decorated in gold quartz on both sides as well as the top. You seldom find these. Top is inlaid with grey gold quartz. Panel on front has four separate corners in white quartz, and diamond-shaped center inlay is rose quartz. Rectangular panel on back is grey quartz. As richly embedded with gold as you will ever find. All gold quartz in wonderful condition with just a few sporadic hairline cracks. What little gold is left is engraved overall with floral and geometric designs. Initials on front "B.C.R.", on the back "From E.C.". This certainly would be a highlight in any match safe or gold quartz collection.
