AGS CERTIFIED #10511. DSP. An exceptional example of this scarce C. 1930's Porcelain Sign for Hancock Quality Gasoline showing Rooster as well as Fist graphics. A product of Hancock Oil Company, Long Beach, California. CONDITION: Side one shows excellent color & gloss with four areas of field chipping as well as some minor surface scratch. Side one shows areas of color match at four of the mounting holes at the outer edge as well as some minimal outer edge wear, (Score 83). Side two also shows exceptional color & gloss throughout with six areas of field chipping as well as minor surface scratching present. Side two shows chipping at the mounting holes as well as tear out at the lower left mounting hole with the outer edge showing minor chipping, (Score 80). Sign is set in a new metal ring which displays with the piece well. A seldom seen piece for Hancock Gasoline.
