HEDDON 1902 DOWAGIAC UNDERWATER IN BOX

This is the longer, thinner Type III version that was manufactured in the Fall of 1902. It has gold washed nose & tail caps and side cups, as well as brass eyes and a nickel-plated, winged prop. 1902 was the first year for this bait, and all 3 styles in this inaugural year have the external, silver painted hanging belly weight. There are very few of these early Underwaters still in existence, and this example is one of the better ones grading around Very Good Plus. The correct era box is marked for a similar Underwater in Aluminum, and it has undergone heavy restoration.
