DSP. Sign is Maker Marked S.P.S. & Dated 1954. An incredible rarity from Frontier Gasoline & Motor Oils with only a few known examples. This 48" Porcelain Keyhole Service Station Sign is absolutely stunning and one of the finest known examples featuring a unique shape with outstanding Cowboy & Horse graphics. A product of Frontier Oil Company, Denver, Colorado. CONDITION: Side one is overall outstanding showing brilliant color & gloss with very limited wear. Side one shows some very minimal surface scratching as well as some very light BB nicks in the outer field. Sign shows one light chip in the "T" of Frontier and the outer edge is extremely clean showing only minimal wear, Grade 8.75+. Side two also shows brilliant color & gloss throughout showing minimal areas of light surface scratch as well as small BB type nicks in the outer field. Side two shows one small nick in the Horse graphic as well as one chip in the "N" of Frontier. The black porcelain in the horse shows some minimal rain discoloration and the outer edge is very clean showing just light wear, Grade 8.5. A brilliant example overall of this extreme rarity from Frontier, a beautiful piece with outstanding display power.
