Last 19th century, California. This fine example with tight even weave, decorated with 12 vertical rows of cross form devices, each row alternating in red and blue/grey. 5-1/8" tall, approximately 8" in diameter at the center line, 5-3/16" diameter at the opening, and 5" diameter at the base. Structurally very good, weave and basket is sound and tight, colors of cross design are now faded but visible. Very fine and rare basket.
