LARGE LOT OF JOHN HARDIN ARTIFACTS

Lot of 6 original artifacts related to the famous Texas gunfighter, John Wesley Hardin, including 2 signatures, collected together in an open top riker case. (A) Two original gambling chips from the Acme Saloon, where Hardin was killed on August 19, 1895. White chip with gold “ACME” on front, and a blue one with same writing. "R.B. Stevens / Prop." printed on verso of chips. 1 1/2" diameter. (B) Authentic shot poker card with original Hardin signature and four bullet holes executed by Hardin, signed and dated “J.W. Hardin / 4-6-1895”. 4 1/2" x 2 1/2". One of the best example of a Hardin shot card we’ve ever cataloged. (C) Original Hardin calling card. "JOHN W. HARDIN Esq. / ATTORNEY AT LAW / OFFICE 200 ½ El Paso / Wells Fargo Bldg. PRACTICE IN ALL COURTS". 2 1/8" x 3 1/8". d) Chit from the Wigwam Saloon, signed by Hardin. Aug 15, 1895 (5 days before before he was killed), for “Cash Loan 5.00 / Bar Bill 1.50". Signed in black ink, “John W. Hardin”. Clipped, lined ledger paper with blue THE WIGWAM head stamp, 4 1/4" x 1 3/4". In the center of the framed display is copy of a Hardin image. Provenance: Includes original Robert McNellis signed and notarized sworn statements for both the playing card and the calling card as well as copies of other known cards.
