Extensive World War I Ephemera lot with most of the items being named to two Connecticut Veterans. The first ephemera grouping is named to Lt. Russel M. Nichols who appears to have been part of the 310th Field Artillery Battalion, 79th Division. Some highlights of Lt. Nichols group are several photographs of Nichols and fellow soldiers during World War I. Also included are several documents pertaining to Lt. Nichols' service, several letters and correspondence both during and after World War I, Field Service Medal in box, Connecticut World War I Medal and much more. Lot also includes Lt. Nichols' dog tag, notebook with field notes, some of which include "Aerial Photography", "Signs of Attack", "Flying Formations", "Notes on Aerial Gunnery Second Aviation Instruction Center", and much more. The other named portion of this lot is identified to Lt. Grafton Wiggins. Lt Wiggins appears to have been a pilot during World War I as there are several photographs of him in flying gear. Nichols and Wiggins may have known each other, as there are photos of both of them in the same pages of a photo album. The photo album pages are all lose and have been removed from the album long ago. There is also a large folder of World War I photos. These photos have good subject matter, with many showing airplanes, soldiers, battlefields, and scenery. Also included are several documents addressed to Lt. Wiggins. There are several other miscellaneous pieces of ephemera that came in the same box. These include several service manuals and books that probably belonged to the two men. Lastly there is a large book titled "The Great War in Gravure." CONDITION: Many of the documents are fragile and there are stains, rips, and tarnishing. Some photos have tears. Most pieces are in good condition and only have slight blemishes. JD

Item Dimensions: Largest: 12 - 1/4" x 9" x 1 - 5/8".
