Comprising: A) Large folding European knife measuring 12-3/4" closed and a massive 21-3/4" open. Blade measures 10-3/4" and has a perch belly form with single edge and decoration on one side with indistinct inscriptions on the opposite side. There are gadrooned brass ferrules at each end and the grip scales are of horn and are decorated with braided brass wire and inlaid strips of brass engraved with rocker panel designs. CONDITION: Blade retains a grey patina and shows wear to decoration on both sides. Brass retains a pleasing dark mustard patina. One grip scale has a small chip and other shows a small area of insect damage. A rare size and a very early folding knife. B) A relief-carved folk art powder horn with face. Measures about 10" across the bow. There is a relief ring at the spout followed by a detailed relief-carved human face with ears. The flat wooden plug retains traces of old red paint and is retained by 6 iron tacks. CONDITION: Very good with a dry untouched surface. DMG
