Lot consists of: A) Kenyan drum made from Zebra hide and wood from Kenya standing roughly 24 inches high and 24 inches across with three carved wooden legs. Drum is decorated with woven strips of animal hide which also stretch surface of the drum. Drum also has two handles woven from animal hide for carrying. CONDITION: A) Excellent with no holes or repairs. B) Iron tipped Kenyan spear with wooden handle measuring 52" long. Rear of spear has metal flat tip possibly for use in throwing the spear or for use as tool after use for cleaning of animal. Spear has hide sewn grips with interwoven straps. CONDITION: B) Good with metal having turned an aged patina with some pitting and hide grips showing some shrinkage. Point is slightly bent. C) Kenyan short spear which has iron blade fastened to a wood shaft with reed or heavy grass like material. Spear is 29' long. C) Good condition with some tarnishing. D) Whip or tool used to chase insects away made from what looks to be a Zebra's tail. D) Good with some hair loss. PROVENANCE: All items were obtained by Dr. John K. Lattimer in Kenya in the 1950's during a medical lecture tour of Africa. DLM
