Lot consists of: (A) Circa 1820-1840 naval dirk, possibly US, with a dagger style blade that measures approximately 5". Silver washed hilt with ornate S-shaped scabbard keeper and pillow pommel. Grip is of ivory with center swell and nice vertical line decorations on each side. Blade is marked with inventory number "489". Complete with metal scabbard that features a round stud and matching inventory number. Total length is 8 - 3/4". CONDITION: Blade is bright with scattered blemishes. Nice patina to hilt with small hairlines on grip. Scabbard exhibits a few small dents with a nice patina. (B) Circa 1820-1840 naval dirk, possibly US, with a dagger style blade that measures approximately 4 - 7/8". Silver washed hilt with ornate ovular scabbard keeper and pillow pommel. Grip is of ivory with center swell and nice checking on each side. Complete with lightweight scabbard that is noted to be silver. Blade and scabbard are marked with inventory number "516". This example is Fig. 74 in "Silver Mounted Swords The Lattimer Family Collection". CONDITION: Blade exhibits a nice patina, as does the hilt. Grip exhibits a crack on each side. Scabbard exhibits scattered dents and blemishes. (C) Circa 1820-1840 naval dirk, possibly US, with a dagger style blade that measures approximately 4 - 3/8". Silver washed hilt with ornate ovular scabbard keeper and pillow pommel. Grip is of ivory with center swell and nice checking on each side. Complete with lightweight scabbard that is noted to be silver. Blade and scabbard are marked with inventory number "541". This example is Fig. 75 in "Silver Mounted Swords The Lattimer Family Collection". CONDITION: Bright blade with light wear. Nice patina to hilt with handling wear. Scabbard exhibits a nice patina with the letters "US" scratched on 1 side. (D) naval dirk, possibly US, with a dagger style blade that measures approximately 5". Silver washed hilt with ornate S-shaped scabbard keeper and pillow pommel. Grip is of ivory with center swell and nice vertical line decorations on each side. Blade is marked with inventory number "491". Ferrule is period engraved "1835". CONDITION: Blade exhibits a nice patina with scattered blemishes. Engraved ferrule is somewhat loose. Nice patina to hilt and grip. All dirks were formerly part of the renowned John K. Lattimer Collection.
