Exceptional 1969 Rolex Cosmograph Daytona "Paul Newman" Chronograph, Reference 6241 in 18K Yellow Gold with rare "John Player Special" black dial with gold sud-dials. Serial No. 1947XXX. This watch was purchased new on Bahnhofstrasse Street in Zurich, Switzerland in early 1970, and is being offered for the first time ever from the original owner. The watch is completely original and retains it's original factory finish with a wonderful strong patina/rainbow toning to the case. The watch bears hallmarks on two of it's lugs, and is numbered "6241" accordingly. The inner caseback is also numbered "6241" and marked "18K 0.750". The Jubilee bracelet was added to the watch at the original time of purchase by request of the owner, and is dated "1/70" (first quarter of 1970). It is marked "750", hallmarked and numbered "53" on each end. It too still retains it's original factory finish, with both original spring pins. Overall, this watch is in exceptional original condition, and was rarely ever worn. The movement is the manual winding Rolex caliber 722, marked "Rolex Geneve 17 Rubis, Swiss Made Fabr. Suisse, 722" and is in excellent working order, as are both original round pushers. Unlike the models produced for the US market, this rare example bears no export marks, or letters, on the movement, and is make in solid 18K yellow gold.

Condition: (Excellent).
