After Sir Henry Raeburn. Oil on canvas. The original portrait of Mrs. Downey by Raeburn is in the collection of the Tate Museum in Britain. It was painted in the late 18th century and bequeathed by Robert Dudgeon in 1883. This lot bears a period inscription on the stretcher, "Dudgeon". Framed in the original period gold leaf late 19th century Carlo Maratta style frame.
