Bisque socket head on shoulder plate poupée peau incised F.G. for François Gaultier (2” hairline down back of head) with multi-stroked eyebrows, dramatic dark paperweight eyes, painted upper and lower eyelashes, closed mouth, pierced ears, replaced human hair wig; original sturdy kid body (soil); wearing probably original cotton print dress with white cotton sleeves (wear and holes on sleeves) and embroidered apron, underwear, no shoes or socks. In an antique wood domed top trunk 16 x 9 ½ x 9 ½” with paper cover and decorations (fair condition with some paper loss and general wear) containing an assemblage of antique clothing and accessories: additional cream and black two-piece dress, purple and white summer dress, plaid skirt, striped petticoat, red bonnet, striped skirt, wonderful hoop for under her skirt, tippet, undies, two straw hats, leather gloves, stockings, reticule, comb case, amazing satchel with school books in French handwriting, miniature basket with sewing supplies and a small leather purse. Not all of the clothing fits the doll. Trunk has a label from legendary dealer Helen Fields of N.Y. A lovely doll with an interesting and fun group of accessories and clothing!
