Early Archaic-10,000-7,000 B.P. Scott Co., Missouri. Translucent Burlington chert. The high silicon content of this beautiful translucent chert granted artistic license to it's ancient maker, allowing the incredibly detailed edgework and immaculately sharp tip exhibited by this Dalton. The well-formed base reveals slight grinding. Two tiny chips on one side, near the base.
