Transition Paleo. 10,500 - 8000 B.P. Sangamon Co., Illinois. Creek stained. Burlington Chert. This is the Agate Basin that all other must be measured against. Even with a broken tip this monumental spear radiates power when held in the hand. It is perfectly balanced in every way, made, no doubt, by a master craftsman. The basal grinding rises 2 - 1/2” up each side , suggesting its use as a projectile, designed for maximum blade exposure and penetration.
