6000-4000 B.P. Archaic period. Benton Co., Tennessee. Red Claystone. A classic Middle Tennessee material transformed into an extremely well made example of a saddleface form that is not often seen so far South. Nicely finished, with organic patina adhering to much of the surface. Remnants of ancient cane drilling are clearly visible in the hole.
Item Dimensions: 25/16" x 2 - 3/8" x 21mm.
