6000-4000 B.P. Archaic period. Yellow Creek Montgomery Co., Tennessee. Fine-grained, granite- like hardstone. A highly polished surface on this unusual hardstone material. This tapered profile is almost never seen. Several nicks and plow scrapes on one side and lower edge. Exhibits wonderful ancient drilling from both ends.
