Archaic period 6000-4,000 B.P. Cheatham Co., Tennessee, near Ashland City. Metamorphic banded slate. The heavily patinated surface almost conceals the unusual metamorphic banding hidden underneath. The typical gouged oval hole has been smoothed and refined inside.
