Floral artwork. Oil on canvas. Signed lower right with artist monogram 'RJK'. John Ross Key was the grandson of Francis Scott Key, author of the star spangled banner. Born and raised in Washington, DC, Key's artistic career was spent in various cities throughout the United States. Key had a very successful career and his works were exhibited at the National Academy of Design, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, and many other galleries and institutions.
