America, ca. 1920, an early example of the best-known house produced by the Providence, Rhode Island firm of TynieToy, this house features the typical five bay facade with formal entry complete with fanlight, a kitchen wing to the side and Palladian window on the rear wall at the stair landing. The exterior retains most of its original chalky white paint (some in-painting) and original green painted shutters and faux-paneled doors. The hinged portion of the main roof has been replaced, there is one removable central chimney with no signs that there was ever a second. The front step with boot-scraper is not original. The front panels lift off to reveal the main section’s four principal rooms and staircase hallway, and two rooms in the kitchen wing, all with original painted surfaces and original overhead lighting (not connected). An unusual feature of this house is the sliding panel under the opening to the attic, a feature later houses lack. This house was originally owned by a dentist in Rahway, New Jersey and was featured in Miniature Collector magazine earlier this year. Doll House
