Serial No. 2257. 36 caliber. Standard configuration. 7-1/2" barrel. All matching numbers, including wedge. Gun has been cleaned to basic gun metal grey. Cylinder scene is approximately 90% visible. Original nipples. Action works as new. Strong, clean, shiny bore. Beautiful original deluxe walnut grips with 90% original varnish. This is an early square back model with presentation engraving on backstrap "J.H. Morgan, Kentucky". Possible confederate history worthy of further research. Early gun made in 1853. Morgan was a Colonel in the Kentucky Calvary CSA. (No further prominence). Pistol was accompanied by a vintage rig that includes an unmarked period flap holster, a clasp military style belt, two photo CDVs of Morgan and Stonewall Jackson, and two bullet/possible pouches. Beautiful rig with historic content.
