Serial No. 17691 (Revolver), 17099 and 17100 (Stock). Manufactured in 1858, and was one of approximately 10,500 revolvers made from 1851 - 1861. Here is a pretty standard Colt 3rd Model Dragoon .44 caliber percussion revolver that is factory cut for a shoulder stock and comes with an original stock, albeit not numbered to the gun. Standard 7 ½” barrel, single action .44 caliber percussion gun. All matching numbers except wedge. Gun has been cleaned at one time and is basically a gun metal color. Nice 75% visible cylinder scene. Functions and locks up tight as a drum. Sharp strong bore. US stamped frame. K stamped trigger guard. Folding rear sight dovetailed into New York factory stamp. Varnished grips under sized to frame. Stock numbers indicates it was made for a double cased set of revolvers and the right side of metal has a 2” piece broken off which is still present and could be repaired. Overall, a nice and clean old Dragoon.
