Serial No. 6773. Made for Smith & Wesson. It is a .22 short rimfire, seven shot non-fluted cylinder, 3-3/16" octagon barrel. The cylinder retains 75% of the brilliant blue finish, the barrel is in the white, the frame retains the majority of the original silver plating. Excellent walnut grips. Inscribed on the back "To W.F.C. From G.W.L.". While we have no documentation to support the inscription, it fits the period. We do not know who the G.W.L. might have been. This revolver deserves further research.
