Serial No. 183246. This revolver was manufactured in 1899. Features a 4-3/4" barrel in .38-40 caliber. Beautifully vintage engraved in Helfricht style and has been re-nickeled of which almost all still remains. Barrel stampings are faint. Fine two piece real ivory grips with full buffalo on the right side. All four clicks. Excellent bore. Beautiful early cowboy gun. This Colt comes with the factory letter indicating it was shipped as a .38-40, 4-3/4", blue finish with rubber grips to Sherman, Texas in February 1899. Therefore the engraving, plating, and ivory were added at a later date.
